you know Judas?

You know, this is gonna be a weird parallel and it may have hit some of you already, perhaps I'm just slow.. I was reading the story of Jesus' betrayal in the gospels. Basically, Jesus had these 12 disciples that were basically His best friends. One of them, Judas Iscariot, during the time that they knew the Jews were looking to crucify Him, Judas told the soldiers that for 30 shekels of silver. He was planning to do this for a while, but all throughout this.. Jesus knew, He even called it out.. He said "One of you shall betray me..." Ok if I were in His shoes I'd stop it right there.. but i guess thats why I'm not. Ok so Judas handed Jesus, one of his beloved friends.. one of his BEST friends, over to be KILLED. WHAT? after all that Jesus had done for him and showed him and promised him? yea, pretty screwed up I know.. here is the kicker.. I.. and you.. yea, YOU... and me.. WE are Judas. We take those 30 shekels of silver every day. We kick sand in His mouth and turn Him over time and time again. But the weird part is that the story seems to be set on some kind of a rewind.. because it happens over and over and over.. and over. When we live for ourselves, when we are selfish, when we withhold love, when we laugh instead of help.. when we ignore instead of answer, when we tear down instead of building up.. we are taking the money. Who would've thought? We have something in common with good ol' Judas after all. Ready to press "stop" on this looping story yet?

Hmm, very Interesting and very true...
"When we live for ourselves, when we are selfish, when we withhold love, when we laugh instead of help.. when we ignore instead of answer, when we tear down instead of building up."

I think in our daily interactions we tend to really "be Judas". Its not just hurting Christ, but hurting others around us. When we decide to live how we chose, and not care for others. when we ignore instead of answer. Or when our actions cause others to break down.
Allot of times when we may even think our actions may be the "best" thing to do, yet we soon find out our actions can scar.
I was actually reading 1 Corinthians 8, and verse 12 says

"When you sin against your brothers in this way and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ"

So Paul says that when we cause the people around us to fall, in reality we are sining against Christ, So aren't we acting like Judas in hurting Christ and the people God has placed in our lives to build up?
Our actions have such power, and like you said, its about time we end the loop, Stop being the Judas, Stop hurting the people around us, and stop hurting Christ, the loop has to end.
The way to end the loop is to act, talking about it isnt enough. If we say we love, yet show nothing to prove it, what good is our words with no action? Telling some one you love them 100x and never showing it does no good, End the cycle end the loop by getting out there, get dirty, and Love.
Lets stop being Judas, Stop talking, and just go and love. Don't break down with our words and actions but build up.

End the loop, lets not hurt Christ anymore ;)

gnarly post man...keep it going

But why are we a pack of Judasians? We are currents of lightning, choosing the fastest and easiest route, even if we kill the boy flying his first kite. Though electricity could never break its path chosen by opportune physics, could we?

Perhaps it is because "Thank you," is fewer syllables than "You're welcome," but if that is the reason why we continue to stand with an outreached hand for our thirty pieces, it is a poor reason and no wonder American society has become obese.

I do think, though, that it is due to laziness and impatience. Electricity, when given over to its own path, dashes through the sky, quick, hot, bright, and mystifying--but ultimately deadly, short-lived, pointless. Yet, with direction, wiring, and a good conductor, cannot this same power keep lit the dark road when I travel?

Who is the light bulb?

What is the conductor?

And who is the engineer of this circuitry?
